YMA Programme of Preparation

The Programme of Preparation consists of four steps:

1. History of Congregation

Firstly, the individual should have a full understanding of the life and work of Catherine McAuley:

  • The story of Catherine McAuley
  • Catherine’s love of the poor and needy
  • Her way of bringing people to God
  • Sharing the Good News
  • Mary, Mother of Mercy

4. Preparation

And, finally, the new member makes a promise of commitment.

The period of preparation is approximately 12 months. At the end of this time, the new members make a final promise in a simple ceremony, when they are presented with their badge and T-shirt.
